GARDEN AREAS & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
THE HAWKINS’ FAMILY GARDEN
Mayfield is the private home of the Hawkins’ Family, and they have opened up 16 hectares of their garden for public viewing 363 days a year (closed 25 and 26 December). However, portions of the additional 49 hectares of the Hawkins’ Family Garden are open 16 days a season and for our private tours. Outside of these seasonal periods, unauthorised entry beyond the 16 hectares of Mayfield into the Hawkins’ Family Garden will be considered trespassing. If you are found in these areas, you will be asked to delete any photos you may have taken and leave immediately, failure to comply with our request could result in further legal action.
COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY & FILM
No filming or photography for commercial purposes may be carried out in the garden without prior written consent from Mayfield. Mayfield welcomes commercial photography and film bookings. Please fill in the form via the link below.
WATER
At Mayfield, we recycle water, and as such, not all our water is safe to drink. Unless you are offered water from Mayfield Cafe or have filled a bottle from a tap marked “Safe to drink” please do not use taps you find throughout the garden to fill your water bottle. All non-labelled taps outside the cafe are used for watering the garden and not suitable for drinking water. If you would like to fill your water bottle, please ask the Cafe staff before entering the garden. We also make water available for our dog friends at the Pooch Parking out front of the cafe, please ask the cafe staff if this needs filling.
DOG-FRIENDLY
We love dogs, bon’t we don’t love the mess. If you choose to bring your dog with you to Mayfield, they must be kept on a lead at all time and you must pick up after them. If this is not adhered to you and your dog will be asked to leave Mayfield.
MOBILITY FRIENDLY
Mayfield is mobility friendly. Mayfield Cafe and Nursery is accessible and in 2018 we opened the Camellia Walk which provides a mobility friendly pathway to view the garden. We do not provide mobility aids either for use, sale, or rental
