The Personal and Private Garden Tour takes your Mayfield experience to a whole new level…
Picked up from local accommodation in Bathurst & Oberon, on arrival a personal tour around the Hawkins’ Family Garden, plus areas that cannot be viewed during seasonal festivals! Enter through the family’s private entrance and view the private areas normally not open outside of festival events. View Australia’s 2nd largest Maze, Mayfield Chapel, the Rose Garden, croquet lawn, the sculptured garden, and amphitheatre. You will be served a private lunch including Mayfield’s signature ‘Communal Feast’ in The Glass House. Following lunch, walk through the Hawkins private Japanese Garden and within Mayfield House which isn’t even on the Mayfield map during seasonal seasons. Before you leave, you’ll stop into the Cafe & Nursery Produce Store so you can take away a piece of Mayfield home with you!
It will be a day you’ll never forget and a life-experience which should be on everyone’s bucket list.
April 10 – May 3, 2020
During the 16-day Autumn Festival, the Hawkins Family Garden is open to visitors so this is your opportunity to explore the entire 65 hectares of Mayfield. Get lost in the traditional English inspired Maze, see the Croquet Court, the Hawkins’ Family Chapel, the Chook Hilton, the 80 metre Cascade & Temple and much more. In Autumn, our rowboats are available on Mayfield Lake (at no additional cost) and our interactive games are scattered throughout the garden for your family and friends to enjoy. Being a cool climate garden, we feature many varieties of deciduous trees which offer an array of Autumn colours. There is a courtesy bus making several stops around the garden.
