At Mayfield, we celebrate fresh and local. We don’t just celebrate it; we LIVE it!
We take great pride that the produce served at Mayfield is grown onsite in our garden or on our farm and the remainder is handpicked from local partners.
So as you wander through the Garden Centre in the morning, you may well be eating from its bounty a little later in the day.
Because we grow our produce, our menu changes with the seasons. The kitchen garden team chat daily with our chefs to make plans and sow the seeds, and when those fruits and vegetables are at their seasonal best, that’s what you’ll find on our menu.

You can also take a piece of Mayfield home with you. Choose from our very own delicious jams, chutneys and oils along with other local merchandise. If food is the way to someone’s heart, then you’re going to fall head-over-heels for our deliciousness. Our mouths are watering just thinking about it!
Whether you’re visiting the garden or not, The Mayfield Café is open to everyone 363 days of the year (closed 25 & 26 December) from 9am – 4.30pm. (Last kitchen orders 3pm)
Unfortunately, we don’t take bookings during our busy Festival period. We offer our tables on a walk-in basis… We don’t want you to have to cut your garden exploration short, so that you can be back for lunch on time. We find that this system best as we are expecting hundreds of guests to attend. Thanks for understanding!
